There will be a significant amount of homework; plan your time accordingly. College classes generally require 2-3 hours of outside of class work for each hour of class attended. The amount of time you spend on required homework depends on how serious you are about this course and whether you choose to succeed, but will rarely exceed this guideline. Projects to be completed entirely or partly at home are exceptions to this.
Homework is due before class on the day it is due. Electronic assignments will usually be due 11:59 pm the evening before class.
All work is to be done independently unless specified otherwise or permission is granted. Important note: work done by more than one person or using an online source without synthesis or citation (as appropriate), including AI sources, may be subject to a zero.
Students will have regular homework. It is essential to complete this homework before class. The homework will consist of readings, electronic assignments, and occasional written assignments that are essential to course mastery.
Failure to complete homework or turning in homework late will significantly lower your grade in the class.
Regular homework will consist of the following:
Reading due before class each class period, including exam days.
There will be an in-class quiz after each reading.
A reading schedule is provided separately and is also posted on Google Classroom.
If the schedule must be adjusted, this will be announced in class and on Google Classroom.
The revised schedule will be posted on Google Classroom.
Electronic assignments due the first class day of each week.
Review assignments due the day of each unit exam.
There will occasionally be additional homework.
Students are required have a College Board account and join their class’s specific “AP Classroom” section. Students will use AP Classroom and complete assignments on it throughout the year. You may log in using https://myap.collegeboard.org/login. Students will be led through joining the class during part of class at the beginning of the year. If you need additional help joining the class, please come to tutorials.
If you have difficulty accessing your account or creating your account, you are responsible for contacting College Board for help with your account. You may contact College Board through the resources on this page https://about.collegeboard.org/contact-us.
