A Mural for the Science Building
documented by Seohyun Park
Our mural concept is Monster University from Pixar. The reason that we chose Monster University as a concept is that those characters are students who go to school like us. For this reason, we chose Monster University as a concept of our mural.

Our logo is "Monsters Prodigy Academy". As we said, our concept is Monster University and we want to make our logo similar to the logo of Monster University. So, we thought to use our school name, Global Prodigy Academy, and change the font to Monster University font and change "Global" to "Monsters". So, the logo looks like this (Top Right Side). We used Inkscape to make this logo (Bottom Right Side).

We think that we need to know how's the mural looks like before drawing the mural. Therefore, we recreated our science building where we will draw the mural and include a mural image that was drawn digitally by Sihoo Park. The 3D image looks like this (Top Left Side). We used Blender which is a 3D design program to make the mural and science building (Bottom Left Side)

As we said our concept is Monster University. And we chose 4 different characters from Monster University. The characters on the mural are doing the class activity in the science building. (From the left) 3D Digital Art, Visual Art, Biology, and Physical Science, because they are doing the same activity as us, it relates to the science building.

Progress to make the mural.
To collect ideas about what we will draw and the concept of the mural.
To choose ideas and concepts. After doing the previous, we need to draw the image that we will draw on the mural.
To make the 3D place and see what the mural will look like.
If we think the mural in 3D place looks good, we need to cartoon each drawing.
Cartoon: a full-scale preparatory drawing for a painting, which is transferred to the support before the final work is executed: (b) in more modern usage, a comical or satirical drawing.
After the cartoon, we need to trace it onto the wall exactly. We used a ball-point pen to trace it and it was effective to trace onto the wall.
After the trace all of the things, we need to paint the wall with watercolor, paint, board-marker, etc. It is the most important part to draw the murals.
