OSSD Requirements are listed below and shows you what is required to earn your Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
Grade 9 at London Central
Every student will take 8 courses (four per semester).
SIX COMPULSORY COURSES:
English ENL 1W1 (destreamed) or ENG 1L1 (locally developed)
Math MTH 1W1 (destreamed) or MAT 1L1 (locally developed)
Science SNC 1W1 (destreamed) or SNC 1L1 (locally developed)
Geography CGC 1W1 (destreamed)
French FSF 1D1 (destreamed)
Health and Physical Education PPL 1OM (male) or PPL 1OF (female)
TWO ELECTIVES: (select a total of two from the options below)
One Arts credit is required for graduation. Drama (ADA 1O1) or Visual Arts (AVI 1O1) or Music Winds and Percussion (AMI 1OB - Beginner or AMI 1OE - Experienced) or Music Strings (AMS 1OB - Beginner or AMS 1OE - Experienced)

One Technology credit is required for graduation (done in Grade 9 or Grade 10). TDJ 1O1

Students may start earning community involvement hours in the summer before Grade 9.
Students are responsible for locating and completing 40 hours of community involvement in order to graduate. Parents/guardians are responsible for checking potential placements before the student begins. Opportunities to volunteer will be posted on the bulletin board outside guidance or through the guidance google classroom for your grade.
Upon completion, it is advised that a photocopy be taken before submitting the completed form to Guidance.

Summer School
Each summer, students may have the opportunity to take ONE course through summer school delivery in July with TVDSB. Students should plan accordingly and not select that course in their Grade 9 course selections if planning to take the course in the summer.
