Pour some sugar or salt onto a paper plate or into a shallow rectangular dish and let your child use a finger to spell the words.
Randomly place the word cards on a table or counter top and have your child 'slap' the words with a spatula or fly swatter as you say them.
Hide the word cards around the house and have your child go on a scavenger hunt for them. Read and spell them as they are found.
Place the words on the floor and have your child read each word as he/she steps or jumps to it. You could also call out the word you want your child to land on.
Make a hopscotch mat with sidewalk chalk and have your child jump and read through the mat. Then let your child decorate the driveway or sidewalk with the weekly words.
Remember how to keep a tally.
