In grade 9 we learn the foundations of drama. We begin with GAMES and then move on to tableau, mime and movement theatre. Next we study about the origins of theatre with a focus on Greek theatre in our history section, accompanied by a choral speaking unit. We cap this off with a mask making ritual unit. We then take what we know from mask work and apply it to character building with neutral masks. We have the introduction to improv and process drama unit, where students further explore character building. The final unit is research and performance based, presented as a drama anthology. This is structured to showcase all of the skills learned in the course, as well as provide an opportunity to lead and follow.
