1. Arc GIS Online [40pts]

   1. • create a map centered on Chicago, IL

      • browse publicly available layers (search "ArcGIS Online" from dropdown) to find

      • Change Basemap to "OpenStreetMap"

      • Add Layers:

        1. 1. • Average Urban Heat Index by Census Tract in Cook County, Illinois

                1. 1. • color the census tracks according to the variable "Average Urban Heat Index", your choice on color ramp

              • Assisted_Living_Facilites_in_Chicago_Wards

      • Change/add anything you think you should to make the map readable and useful

      • Save the map

      • Create a Web App

      • Configure the Web App with the standards touches your map needs (scale bar, etc.)

      • Get the shareable link for your map - copy it to your Google Doc

      • In your Google Doc write 2 or 3 sentences describing how this map may be useful

2. Colab + GEE #1 [25pts]

   1. • Create a cloud-free composite of Illinois for the year 2023.

      • Share your code, put the link in your Google Doc...do not edit the code until after I grade the exams

   1. • Create a split map for visualizing NLCD land cover change in Indiana between 2004 and 2016. Add the NLCD legend to the map.

4.  Colab + GEE #3 [40pts]

   1. • Dataset = NOAA/GFS0P25

      • Create a map showing the precipitable water for the entire atmosphere over the USA any time during August 1, 2023.  Generally what do you observe about this map?  Compare the average value for the precipitable water for the entire atmosphere over Indiana to that of Missouri.  Does this agree with your thoughts when looking at the entire map?  Write a few sentences in your Google Doc reflecting your thoughts and make sure to provide the exact means for IN and MO.

5. Colab + GEE #4 [10pts]

   1. • Find out which US state has the largest forest gain and which US state has the largest forest loss between 2000 and 2022.  Find the exact numbers (with units) and write them in your Google Doc.
