Daviot Campsite - Covid Information for Site Users
For obvious reasons, there are currently restrictions in use of the campsite, although we are trying to keep this to a minimum. Sharing of the site with other users will be strictly controlled during this time.
All users are fully responsible for complying with the campsite Risk Assessment as well as their own relevant Risk Assessments and Gordon District are not responisble for monitoring this. Any advice can be obtained from the bookings secretary.
Attached below is Gordon District Campsite's Risk Assessments. As Scouting is currently in Covid Level Amber, the hall is not currently available for use. 18-3-21

For all those officially looking after the site on behalf of Gordon District, all work on the site has to be strictly controlled and the Site Chair (AM) be notified for Track & Trace as well as Safety purposes.

Daviot Campsite
is the property of Gordon District and is the only District owned campsite. It is located 350 metres north of Daviot village and can be found at:

(but cannot guarantee there isn't another booking going through the system. The site can be shared by more than one group, unless specifically requested).
The site itself is set in a fairly secluded 9 acres of rough woodland and is withing a short drive from Bennachie (a local hill), the towns of Inverurie and Oldmeldrum and about 40 minutes from the city of Aberdeen. There is a train station in Inverurie that links to Aberdeen to the south and to Inverness on the north.
The site features:
A main hall (approx. 30' x 20') with electicity on a meter (£1 or £2 coins required)
Toilet and single shower room (fully accessable)
A small room with a stainless steel worktop for food preparation
A small kitchen with hot water, sinks, fridge, microwave, kettle and an commercial electric oven with utensils
8 individual patrol camping areas each with a wooden dining shelter and fire pit
Solid path round site
Running water from push-taps around the site
Outdoor toilets blocks
A large main campfire circle
30m level field, with archery butts
There are no organised activities on site, however there are pioneering poles for use of visiting groups, a sandpit area that is suitable for building bridges over, an obstacle course, crate climbing facility, a ready-made bivoac shelter, a flagpole, a play fort, an outdoor oven. Other pieces of equipment, games etc. are available on request and are shown on the Equipment page. There are usually suitable qualified leaders available to run archery sessions but please ask in plenty time (not guaranteed).
