Non-academic example

I've noticed this whole week that if I get to the coffee shop even one minute after 7:00, I'll have to wait 5 minutes longer than normal. I think I can avoid that if I leave my house 5 minutes earlier for work.

Academic example

In math, recognize a pattern in a set of numbers and use that pattern to predict the next 3 terms.
