I believe this would be a yes, I would want/need more discussion with the City and CEDAW of what those actions could look like.
Yes, as long as there is a collaborative and consensus based effort to develop a resolution that addresses stakeholder concerns. I see this as the most effective way to move toward the best possible outcomes.
Yes, and this in embedded in the Core Values and Long Range Strategic Plan of the district to “operate in a climate of respect, honesty and hard work, recognizing the need to be adaptable and open to change;” and to have “effective systems in place for students to learn and staff to work in a safe and healthy environment.”
Uncertain. A resolution by the Board of Trustees affirming BSD7’s commitment to ensuring the rights of women and girls is likely appropriate. However, I believe that there is value in developing statements through a transparent and inclusive process. Moreover, I believe that any such statements should be specifically tied to the district’s mission and purpose of providing “an outstanding education that inspires and ensures high achievement so that every student can succeed and make a difference in a rapidly changing world community.”
Other than a desire for more taxpayer funding and increasing bureaucratic interference in local economies, I didn't find in BOZEMAN FOR CEDAW INITIATIVE any proposal that could help women and girls to achieve full enjoyment of women and girl's human rights.
I need to see the resolution, listen to the community and district discussion and review more background and research before I can commit to a "yes" or "no" vote.
