Yes
YES, with clarification. Housing and food insecurity are complex and multifaceted issues that must be addressed systematically across the region and in partnership with a variety of nonprofits and governmental entities. I am active in and committed to addressing these issues in a variety of ways and in other community leadership roles in Gallatin Valley. I will bring my knowledge and understanding of these issues and the organizations working to address them to my role as Trustee with the goal of identifying the most appropriate partners and resources for addressing the needs of our students and remove these barriers to their learning and success.
The purpose of the public education system is to educate. Besides ensuring that all students can receive nutritious meals at school, housing of students goes beyond the scope of educational providers.
