Green Streets hopes to schedule a planning meeting with new coordinators to better understand your organization's commuting culture and how the Challenge supports (or could support) existing transportation, sustainability and wellness initiatives.
FIRST STEPS
Please copy or download and fill out the Goal sheet shown below, and email or share it with us. Having specific goals will allow you to monitor how you are doing throughout the Challenge using our Challenge Leaderboard and your private Coordinator Dashboard. (We will send you a unique url to access your private dashboard).
In addition to Green Streets rewards, what, if anything, might your workplace offer as extra incentives to staff for logging a commute?
These incentives need not cost much or anything (e.g. lunch with the CEO), and can be inspiring and lots of fun. If everyone in your workplace already commutes car-free, take it to the next level and give them an extra challenge, as Miller Dyer Spears' coordinator Beth Eisenhower did in 2018. Invite people to submit commuting videos, pictures, or stories of themselves or colleagues.
What other in-house departments or even outside groups might like to host a Walk/Ride Day event or table for your staff. Use Walk/Ride Days and the Challenge to share information and engage staff around other environmental, health, community, or financial issues.
Align your internal calendar to the commuter challenge calendar, available here.
