Students will travel to a community job site each day.
A typical class period may include:
Before Work
Review job assignment
Gather needed materials
Review workplace expectations
Travel safely to the job site
At the Job Site
Clock/sign in when appropriate
Report to the assigned work area
Listen to supervisor directions
Complete assigned job duties
Practice workplace communication
Ask for help appropriately
Maintain an appropriate work pace
Follow workplace safety procedures
Clean and organize the work area
After Work
Return to school
Complete job reflection when assigned
Review teacher/job coach feedback
Record progress toward employment goals
Consistent attendance is especially important because CBI is based on real-world work experiences. Missing class means missing valuable job training. Students should make every effort to attend regularly and arrive prepared to participate.
