While participating in CBI, students are expected to:
Be ready to leave for the job site on time.
Dress appropriately for the assigned workplace.
Follow teacher, job coach, supervisor, and employer directions.
Follow all workplace safety procedures.
Treat customers, coworkers, supervisors, and classmates respectfully.
Stay on task and give their best effort.
Ask for help appropriately when needed.
Take care of workplace equipment and materials.
Follow school rules while traveling and working in the community.
Represent themselves, their school, and the CBI program appropriately.
Students should arrive prepared for the workplace.
Students are expected to:
Wear clean and appropriate clothing
Wear appropriate shoes for the assigned job
Practice good personal hygiene
Wear required uniforms or safety equipment
Keep hair secured when required
Follow individual employer dress codes
Students may be asked to change clothing or equipment when necessary for workplace safety.
Because CBI takes place in the community, transportation is part of the learning experience.
Students are expected to:
Enter and exit the vehicle safely
Wear a seat belt
Remain seated
Use an appropriate voice level
Keep hands and belongings to themselves
Follow staff directions
Demonstrate appropriate behavior while traveling in the community
Community businesses are important partners in the CBI program.
Students should remember that job sites are real workplaces. Employees are completing their regular job responsibilities while helping students learn.
Students are expected to respect:
Employer rules
Customer privacy
Workplace property
Employee work areas
Safety procedures
Business operations
Confidential information
