The purpose of the Ashland City Schools Visual & Performing Arts Department (AVPA) is to provide opportunities for the artistic, social, emotional, and academic growth of its students in an inclusive, structured, and supportive environment.

MR. CAMERON DEDRICK
Mr. Cameron Dedrick has been teaching art since 2003, and at Ashland High School since 2018. He is the Executive of the Media Arts Department, Assistant Marching Band Director, and a Technology Coach. He currently teaches 2D & 3D Foundations, Drawing Fundamentals, Printmaking, Sculpture, and Media Arts. Previous to his high school career, he taught Elementary Art for 15 years. Mr. Dedrick is a current member of the Ohio Art Education Association, President of the Ohio Alliance for Arts Education, and former grant assessor for both Ohio Arts Council & Ashland County Community Foundation Grant Committees.
MRS. EMILY OLEWILER
Mrs. Emily Olewiler is the art educator at both Taft intermediate teaching 4th and 5th grade art as well as Ashland High School teaching Visual Art. Mrs. Olewiler started her career in teaching in 2017 where she worked at Crestview local schools for 5 years as the High School Visual Arts instructor, and Art Club Advisor. She has been teaching at Ashland since 2023. She currently teaches 2D & 3D Foundations, and Ceramics.
