Dear Parents/Guardians,
Summer is nearly over, and we are very excited to welcome your child/ren into our classrooms. The first day of classes is Monday, August 24, 2026, from 8:15-3:15. Below please find the list of supplies you will need to provide for your child, as well as the 2026-2027 BOSS school calendar, below.
As we begin the 23rd year of our school, attendance is a priority. Daily attendance produces greater academic growth and achievement and sets a foundation for improving student outcomes. In our primary grades, we will also focus on strengthening the foundational literacy and math skills needed to be successful in upper elementary. Our PBIS committee has incentive programs to encourage and motivate students to set academic goals, and we look forward to partnering with you to monitor your child’s progress towards these goals.
As the year progresses, please help your child track and monitor his or her progress. This research-based practice has been shown to increase student achievement, especially when parents are involved in the monitoring process. More information will be shared by your child’s teacher in the weeks to come. As always, please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions or need additional resources to support your child.
All Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 5th graders (and any transfer students) must be screened for vision and hearing. You can arrange for these screenings with your child’s doctor. You will need to provide a copy of the hearing/vision screening results. If this is a problem, please reach out and let us know. In addition, you need to provide us with a copy of your child’s immunizations.
Finally, please note the following Elementary schedules. I am excited to share that we are planning to provide Lincoln Art and Music for elementary students. The addition of these courses will help us provide your child with a more well-rounded education. Please keep in mind, this is a general schedule. Your child’s teacher will have a specific schedule detailing any brain breaks.
Sincerely,
Frank Mader
