Art 1

Art 1 is offered to students of all grades, 6-8, who do not have prior middle school art experience.

Art 1 students study the fundamentals of the elements of art and principles of design. By the end of the year students will have experience in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and ceramics.

Art 1 students will also learn how to describe and analyze the work of themselves and others to form evaluations and critiques of the artwork.

Art 1 students will read about the works of past and contemporary artists to form an appreciation of art history and the art world.
