Sunday to Thursday 5:30pm to 9:30pm (Grades 7-12)
Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays 530pm to 630pm (Grades 4-6)
NOTE: Though there are many ideas listed below, you are encouraged to select activities that are interesting and engaging for your child. The goal is to provide children with opportunities to use the French they have learned. No evaluation is linked to any of these home learning experiences.

Storybooks Canada is a free open educational resource that promotes literacy and language learning in homes, schools, and communities. Stories are provided in text and with audio so students can listen as they read along. We've selected a few to get you started:

Low-tech/offline ideas
Ask your child to draw a picture or choose a picture from a family album or other. Your child can then tell you about the image (Gr. P-2) or write a description (Gr. 2-6) of their picture using as many complete sentences as possible.
Ask your child to teach you or a sibling how to say some sentences in French that they have learned. (Gr. P-12)
Have your child call a friend on the telephone. Ask your child to describe their activities of the day to their friend and suggest an activity that their friend can do to stay active in French. (Gr. P-12)
Have your child write a postcard or greeting card to send to a friend. Your child may describe an activity that is being done at home, ask their friend questions about their activities and suggest ways that they can stay connected from home. (Gr. 2-9)
Choose a favorite story book and pick toys or make puppets to represent the different characters of the story. Help your child create a short play based on the story. Place a sheet between two chairs and perform a puppet show for others. (Gr. P-2)
Using a book you read recently, summarize the story as a comic strip in French (Gr. 4-12)
Start a Nature journal. Children can keep a biweekly journal to record the changes in the environment through pictures and words. (Gr. 4-10)
Teach a family member how to play a game in French. Children can add up the points in French too! (Gr. P-12)
Reading - Look at some of the products in your kitchen. Are there recipes in French you can make? (Gr. 3-8)
Write a new ending to your favorite story (Gr. 4-12).
