Sunday to Thursday 5:30pm to 9:30pm (Grades 7-12)
Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays 530pm to 630pm (Grades 4-6)
NOTE: Though there are many ideas listed below, you are encouraged to select activities that are interesting and engaging for your child. The goal is to provide children with opportunities to use the French they have learned. No evaluation is linked to any of these home learning experiences.

Ask your child to listen to a video on La révision avec Eileen. They can then use the video as an example to create their own video with Screencastify
Have your child record themself speaking previously learned words, expressions and sentences on Vocaroo or Screencastify, to practice their pronunciation.
Skype or Facetime with classmates to practice conversational French.
BrainPop (Gr. 7-8) provides short, educational videos on math, science, art and more.
Francomobile (Gr. 7) has videos on a variety of topics for early language learners.

In honour of International Women's Day (March 8), revisit this issue from 2019 is dedicated to the women who built Canada.
Grades 4-9
Did you know that Scratch Coding is available in French? Click CREATE then click the GLOBE in the top left to change the language to French before you start creating video games, cartoons and more! (Gr 4-9)
Halifax public E-library is open! (Gr. P-12)
All you need is a digital library card to access resources in English and French. You can sign up for a digital library card and use it to borrow books, videos, music and access lots of other great resources from home. (Gr. P-12)
Have your child identify and research a well-known Francophone (actor, singer, hockey player, visual artist, author…) then create an oral presentation, poster, or video in French about the person.
Ask your child to send an email or text to a friend. Encourage them to correspond back and forth as much as they can in French. Challenge them to use at least one French abbreviation in their text.
Low-tech/offline ideas
Ask your child to draw a picture or choose a picture from a family album then tell you about the image or write a description of their picture.
Ask your child to teach you or a sibling how to say some sentences in French that they have learned.
Have your child call a friend on the telephone. Ask your child to describe their activities of the day to their friend and suggest an activity that their friend can do to stay active in French.
Have your child write a postcard or greeting card to send to a friend. Your child may describe an activity that is being done at home, ask their friend questions about their activities and suggest ways that they can stay connected from home.
Reading - Look at some of the products in your kitchen. Are there recipes in French you can make?
Encourage your child to listen to the radio in French or watch a French TV program then make a list of the familiar French words they hear and/or write a short summary of what they viewed.
Using a book they read recently, have your child turn it into a simple comic strip in French
Have your child choose a topic and create a 1-minute monologue. If possible, they can record themself and choose 2 areas to work on.
Students may wish to keep a daily journal. They could write about , feelings, likes and dislikes, or simply write about the weather and other daily happenings.
