How to apply for teaching positions

Individuals interested in teaching in Nova Scotia must apply directly to the Regional Centres for Education or to the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial. To find a list of current, publicly posted jobs, candidates should visit: https://jobs.ednet.ns.ca/.

Nova Scotia Teacher Certification

To teach in Nova Scotia, teachers require a Nova Scotia teacher's certificate. Teachers trained outside of Nova Scotia will need to become certified in the jurisdiction they completed their pre-service teacher training program (ex. Bachelor of Education) prior to becoming certified in Nova Scotia. Teacher certification will require a criminal record check, proof of age, all transcripts of any post-secondary institution ever attended, Statement(s) of Professional Standing from any jurisdiction a teacher has previously held a teacher's certificate, and a complete application.
