FHCS is administrated by the Municipality of Chester through the Recreation and Parks Department. The Community School Coordinator acts as liaison between the school and the municipality as well as organizes programming and schedules. The Community Coordinator is a permanent member of the School Advisory Council.
As a student, you may participate in some of the adult recreational gym programs free of charge. Adult programs are for those individuals sixteen years of age and over. Any student sixteen or older can use the weight room during public hours free of charge. Four times a year, a program brochure that offers over 50 programs is published via the Lighthouse Log. Students may enroll in courses like Emergency First Aid, WHMIS, and Babysitting that may be of interest to them or help them to obtain employment.
Sometimes there are employment opportunities at Forest Heights; look to the announcement board for potential jobs.
If you are interested in seeing a particular course or activity offered, you are invited to stop by and chat with the Community School Coordinator. He is always willing to try to get new things going for interested students with initiative.
