At the end of the day, we must remember that artificial intelligence is, fundamentally, a tool. A critical professional skill is now knowing which of these tools are appropriate for a given task, curriculum, and age level. With hundreds, if not thousands, of AI options already available—a number that will only increase as AI becomes embedded into the software we already use—making informed choices is essential.
The challenge lies in navigating this growing AI landscape to identify which tools are truly effective for learning, which ones are safe and protect student privacy, and which ones are vetted and supported by the AVRCE. Just as we select the right novel or scientific equipment for a lesson, we must now apply the same professional discernment to our selection of AI.
