Student Athlete Conduct

As a representative of the Central Kings GATORS, I am expected to…

  • Maintain my academic potential or be placed on the Student Athlete Academic Monitoring program. If I fail 2 or more courses in any term or semester, I will be immediately placed on academic probation. If I receive a third external suspension in a school year, I will be ineligible for any school sport teams.
  • Maintain a high level of attendance in school, team practices, and games. If I don’t, I can be suspended from that team and become ineligible to participate in any other school sport until the in-season sport season is finished.
  • Be in attendance and participate in classes on the day of a practice or game if I plan to participate in that practice or game
  • Participate fully on the team(s) for which I have been selected. This means putting forth my best effort at all times. If I refuse to do this, I can be asked to leave the team and I will be ineligible to participate in any other school sport until the in-season sport season is finished.
  • Represent myself, my school, my family, and my community in a respectful manner
  • Understand and accept that I am a role model with serious responsibility
  • Communicate with subject teachers to inform them of a potential absence due to an athletic event and make appropriate arrangements for work
  • Adhere to all NSSAF rules and regulations
  • Refrain from participating in hazing / initiation activities as they are prohibited
  • Complete all seasons of play for the teams for which I have been selected. Priority is given to the in-season sport. Should I quit an in-season sport without legitimate reason, I shall be ineligible to play with any other school team until the in-season sport season has finished. If there is a second offense, I will be ineligible to participate on any other school team for the remainder of the school year.
  • Follow all transportation rules and regulations as enforced by the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board. This means I will travel with the team as arranged by my coach (bus, rental van, or parent drivers with completed Form J’s). I am not to transport or travel with other students to a school-sponsored athletic event. If I have the family vehicle, my family assumes liability for me; the school nor the Board are responsible.
