Arrival & Dismissal

Chester District School opens its doors for students at 7:40am. We ask that students arrive no later than 7:55 am so they have plenty of time to get prepared for their morning lessons. The first class of the day begins at 8:00am.

Dropping Off Students

Many parents drop off their children at Chester District School. Please do not park in the bus loop area (see posted signage). Parents/guardians of students in Pre-Primary -4 are to use the upper parking lot and then follow the paved walkway to the main entrance of the school. A staff member will greet students upon arrival.  

Arriving Late

All students who arrive after 8:00am must use the front entrance and ring the buzzer. A staff member will greet the parent/guardian and sign the student in at the office.  Pre-Primary parents need to remain with thier child until a teacher comes to meet them. 

Dismissal 

Dismissal begins at 1:52 with our bus students. 

Student Pick-up

When picking up a student at the end of the day, please do not park in the bus loop (see signage). Please use the upper parking lot and then follow the paved walkway to wait by the benches in front of the school. Once the busses leave, teachers will walk students out the main door to the individuals who is picking them up. Individuals picking up students at the end of the day are encouraged to wait until 1:52pm, rather than having students called out of class a few minutes prior to dismissal. Constant interruptions (paging individual students for dismissal) at the end of the day creates a lot of confusion and denies all students of valuable class time. Thank you for your anticipated support and understanding of this request.

Early Pick-Up

If your child must leave school early for an appointment or otherwise, please contact the school office before 1:00 and we encourage you to pick up your child prior to 1:30 to avoid the commotion of the regular dismissal process. Please come to the front entrance and ring the buzzer to the main office.
