Band News
The Band program at Bayview is ready for another busy year. Congratulations and thanks to the many Bayview students who attended the Lunenburg County Band Camp at Hebbville Academy in August. We had a wonderful week at camp. We had many Bayview students in Beginner Band A, who delighted and amazed the audience at the closing concert, as well as many students in Junior Concert Band, Senior Concert Band and Junior and Senior Jazz Bands. Well done!
There will be Jazz Band offered again this year. Students will have an opportunity to sign up the week of Sept 9th. Rehearsals will be 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday mornings and will start September 17th.
Grade 7 Band will have sectional rehearsals Mondays after school until 4:15. A schedule has been sent home with Grade 7 Band students with dates according to instrument family. Please check the dates carefully.
Band newsletters have gone home to all Band students with general information about the Band Program as well as band schedules and dates of interest coming up. Our Christmas Concert is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, December 12th at 7:00 p.m. (storm date Wednesday, December 18th).
If you are renting an instrument from the school or are a percussionist and have not paid the instrument rental fee, I would like to have them by November 1st.

Junior and Senior Choir
There will be two choirs this year in which students in Grades 2 through 6 may participate. The Senior Choir is for students in Grades 4, 5 and 6 and the Junior Choir is for students in Grades 2 and 3.
All practices are held during the school day and all students are welcome to join. Participation is voluntary but I would ask that if a student joins and does not wish to continue at any point that a note be sent from home indicating that the parent or guardian is aware of this decision. Practices will begin in October. For performances we will wear white tops and dark pants/skirts (black navy or dark grey).
