Empower. Transform. Succeed.
Adult learners (18+) bring unique challenges to learning. Many are balancing work, family, or other responsibilities, while others are returning after struggling in high school. These learners benefit from supportive, flexible environments where they can build academic, social-emotional, and self-management skills at their own pace.
SSRCE Adult Programs help adult learners earn a Nova Scotia High School Graduation Diploma for Adults or upgrade credits, gain confidence, and prepare for post-secondary education, training, or career opportunities.
SSSRCE has two adult high school programs: Bridgewater Adult High School and Queens Alternate and Adult High School.
Both Bridgewater Adult High School (BAHS) and Queens Adult High Schools (QAHS) support learners aged 18+ who are not currently enrolled in school and want to earn a Nova Scotia High School Graduation Diploma or upgrade credits for post-secondary or employment. Courses are taught by licensed teachers in a supportive, adult-focused environment. Smaller class sizes and flexible schedules help students balance learning with work, family, and other commitments.
Note: Queens Alternate and Adult High School serves high school students in Grades 10–12 and Adult High School students who are working toward their High School Diploma for Adults or Upgrading.
