Elementary Highlights

There have been a lot of exciting activities that took place in the elementary in the month of October.

Homecoming week was a fun week for our students and staff. It was great to see creativity from both our students and staff each dress-up day! To wrap up the week, we had a buddy day. Juniors and Seniors came over to the elementary and they were able to participate in a variety of activities with our K-6 students.

Our third grade students were able to receive their new dictionary that were donated by the Marshalltown Elks Club. Students will be able to use the dictionaries throughout their entire education career. The students are excited to use this great resource for years to come.

Fire Prevention week took place during the week of October 10-14. Students learned about important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe if there would be a fire. Gladbrook Fire Department was able to provide a variety of fire safety activities that our Preschool-6th grade students could participate in.

Lastly to wrap up the month, students celebrated Red Ribbon week. Students participated during this week with dress up days along with a variety of activities that happened in the classroom. Red Ribbon week occurs every year and it is a week to inform and support our students in being drug-free.

It was a very busy month in elementary and we look forward to all of the great things that will be happening in November!

5th and 6th grade Farming Factory Club News

Opportunity to give during the months of November and December

The 5th and 6th grade Farming Factory Club will be working with the House of Compassion in Marshalltown this year. We are asking for your help. The House of Compassion is in need of liquid laundry detergent and empty Gatorade bottles. We will fill up the Gatorade bottles with the laundry detergent, and donate it to the House of Compassion. During the months of November and December, we will be collecting Gatorade bottles and liquid laundry detergent. Please bring in your clean and empty Gatorade bottles and place them in the recycling box located outside of the elementary office. You may bring your liquid detergent donations to Mrs. Tonner’s classroom.

Thank you!
