Pickleball Weekly schedule (subject to change):
What is pickleball?
Pickleball is a racket or paddle sport in which two players (singles) or four players (doubles) use a smooth-faced paddle to hit a perforated, hollow plastic ball over a 34-inch-high net until one side is unable to return the ball or commits a rule infraction. Pickleball is played indoors and outdoors. Aspects of the sport resemble tennis and table tennis, but pickleball has specific rules, paddles and court dimensions. The court is 44 feet long and 20 feet wide, and the combined length and width of the paddle cannot exceed 24 inches. On each side of the net is a 7-foot area known as the non-volley zone (or the kitchen); a player standing there may not strike the ball until it has bounced. The hard plastic pickleball produces less bounce than a tennis ball. The limited bounce, non-volley zones, and underhanded stroke, with which all serves must be made, combined with hard drive shots and overhead smash shots, give the game a dynamic pace.
How to register for Pickleball Mayhem:
How to Link
Pickleball Mayhem registration is now open! There is a Hot Tips sheet available for all the details. You will field calls for registrations and the instructions for that process are on the Hot Tips sheet. The BIG THING to note, for yourself and for those that you are registering, is that one person from each team will register, and pay just for themselves. Their teammate should not register until I reach out and gather their name from the registered player. Once someone is registered they have secured their team's spot so no further action is required on their part. There are 7 team spots available in each category. As always, if people have questions you can't answer, please provide them with my email - don't take questions and pass them via slack as it is better that I hear directly from them. Thanks!
🚨 For any other info on Pickleball Mayhem please reference the hot tips binder at the front desk or email Nick@gmcf.life. 🚨

How to sign up for player lineup game
Playerline up is a 3rd party website GMCF uses to allow members to sign up for group pickleball play. This is not the same as reserving a court.
🚨Important🚨
1. If a member signs into a game and they are the 21st they are essentially on a "waitlist" and may not get playing time. Only the 1st 20 players are guaranteed play time.
2. A non member is welcome to create a player lineup account, sign up for a game and stop by the front desk to pay the non-member day pass. If a non member signs into a game, the player lineup site takes priority of members vs non members. This non member may be "bumped out" of the game if 20 members were to sign up.
What is DUPR?
DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) is a rating system that measures a pickleball player's skill level. It's designed to be accurate and inclusive, rating players on the same scale regardless of age, gender, location, or skill level. It works by players, club managers or tournament directors entering scores of games and an algorithm assigns a score of 2.00 through 8.00.
Setting up a free DUPR profile can be done as follows:
Go to www.dupr.com and select Sign Up
Move through that process to create a profile for yourself
Search "Clubs" for Green Mountain Community Fitness and request to Join
GMCF periodically hosts events (competitions, special open play games, leagues, etc.) where we track and enter scores for players and this helps improve the accuracy of their ratings. We use these ratings to define what open play levels players should be joining and what categories they should be signing up for with our tournaments.
