About cate Dixson

I'm a visual artist based in Boston. I work primarily in bright acrylic paints but have also experimented with a number of media throughout my practice including written poetic work. I consider myself a storyteller and draw inspiration from vivid childhood memories, realistic dreams, and themes of security and transition. My pieces rely heavily on themes of nature and security. 

I enjoy using thick textured paint to give my work a tactile sense. Vibrant colors and warm undertones help bring the canvas to life. When I bring together nature and interiors, I try to illustrate a surreal sense of chaos.
