Access Books

Students are required to read ONE book for Summer Reading. 

You can read ANY book of your choice as long as it meets these criteria.

Read for Free with Hoopla!
Many of this year's Summer Reading books are available as free ebooks without a waitlist using Hoopla through the Boston Public Library. To sign up, please watch the Hoopla video and read the directions below.

Sora -- Grades 10-12 only
Most titles are available on Sora as free ebooks and audiobooks. Sora may have a waitlist. Watch the video and read the directions below to learn how to use Sora.

Print Copies
Many titles can be purchased on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or at your favorite local bookstore. You can also borrow books from the GLTS Library and your local public library. 

Written Directions to Sign up for Sora:
Important: We no longer user usernames and passwords. Please log on with Google (Make sure you are logged into Google with your GLTS account.)

Directions:

•  On your Chromebook, go to https://soraapp.com/library/masslibma. You can also use Sora on your phone. Just download the free Sora app from the app store.

• Type in “Greater Lawrence Technical School” and then click on the box with our school's name. Then click the blue button that says “Sign in Using Greater Lawrence Technical School” 

• Sign in with Google

If you cannot borrow a book, please log out of Sora and then log back in with Google.

Written directions to sign up for a Boston Public Library eCard & Hoopla:

1) Register for a free Boston Public Library eCard here. Important – DO NOT FORGET the four-digit PIN number that you create during the registration process. Boston Public Library will email you your ecard card number to you, but they will not email you your PIN number. You will need your ecard number and your PIN number to sign up for Hoopla.

2) Go to HooplaDigital.com and click the “Get Started” button. When it asks you to Find Your Library, type in Boston Public Library. Under "Connect With Your Library" enter your Boston Public Library ecard number that was emailed to you and the PIN number that you just created.

Note – Your PIN number is NOT the last four digits of your Boston Public Library card number. It is a number that you created yourself when you signed up for your BPL eCard.

If you forget your PIN, email the Boston Public Library at websupport@bpl.org. 

Monthly Access on Hoopla
There are no waitlists on Hoopla. Once you borrow a book you will have access to it for 21 days. You currently have access to 10 titles per month on Hoopla. Make sure you read your Summer Reading book before you use up your monthly titles.
