GlobeMed Function Areas

GlobeMed's Core Function Areas

GlobeMed Global Headquarters (HQ) serves as a support and facilitator of the actions this community takes to advance global health equity. We design curriculum to shape our collective understanding of health, leadership, partnerships, and movements; we facilitating training programs and offer leadership coaching and resources to student members; and we serve as the technological and operational backbone for all 36 GlobeMed chapters and partnerships.

While our ultimate impact in the world is healthier, more equitable communities, we recognize that we do not do this work alone. We are part of a vibrant movement for global health equity, and we (as GlobeMed) play a specific role. Guided by the expertise of our grassroots partners and community leaders, we foster experiences and relationships that deepen the social justice learning & leadership development of undergraduate students, like you! Think about that for a moment: What shifts in your understanding of our work and the world if we see our grassroots partners as our teachers, rather than our beneficiaries?

As students in a GlobeMed chapter, you take on the most vital roles -- strengthening our work and movement as a whole by investing in:

  1. Building and maintaining anti-oppressive partnerships with grassroots organizations

  2. Curating brave spaces for interdisciplinary peer learning and leading within your chapter and on campus

  3. Contributing the the larger community and movement by engaging with other GlobeMed network members, as well as peer organizations on your campus and in your local community
