Community & Movement

Our chapters and partnerships do not function in silos—rather, we work collaboratively with the GlobeMed network of students, partners, and alumni, as well as with other groups on our campuses and in our local communities. During their time in college and beyond, members allow their relationships and interconnectedness to fuel their work, bringing their energy, heart, and fierce commitment to justice to each space they enter. They recognize GlobeMed's place in the movement for global health equity, connecting with and uplifting the work of folks both within and outside of the GlobeMed network.

GlobeMed was founded by students in 2006, and currently engages:

Over 1,200 undergraduate students

36 chapters throughout the United States

1 chapter at the University of Rwanda-Kigali

36 partner organizations in Africa, Asia and the Americas

1 Global Headquarters team based across the continental U.S.

Student chapters and grassroots organizations are matched in one-to-one, long-term, authentic partnerships. Together, students & partners:

Share a common vision for the world

Advance community health projects collaboratively

Engage in long-term, sustained relationships

Communicate consistently and transparently

Grow together through mutual-learning

Shift power through unrestricted resources
