Strand i - Explain how the ATL skill(s) was/were applied to help achieve their learning goal.
What you need to do:
Identify the ATL skill(s) that were applied to achieve your learning goal.
Explain why you chose that ATL skill(s), supported with detailed examples or evidence.
Guiding Questions:
What ATL skill(s) was/were applied to achieve your learning goal?
How does your research influence your learning goal?
How do you know that your sources are reliable?
What method did you use? (OPVL analysis - 3 types of resources).
What a good example looks like:
Research Skills
In order to achieve my Learning Goal of understanding how to turn my drawings into animation I had to prepare and do a considerable amount of research. When I began doing my research my first step was to create a research plan.
However because not all sources can be trusted, I had to evaluate them in order to see if the information is actually reliable and can be used. In order to do that, I went through them using the CARRDS method. The evaluation helped me to identify the sources which would be the best ones to help me reach my goal. When conducting research, most particular on animation and art, I would try to balance the sources between professional and amateur ones and look at a variety of sources.
Strand ii - Explain how the ATL skill(s) was/were applied to help achieve their product.
What you need to do:
Identify the ATL skill(s) was/were applied to achieve your product.
Explain why you choose that ATL skill(s), supported with detailed examples or evidence.
Guiding Questions:
What ATL skill(s) was/were applied to achieve your product?
How does your research influence your decision on your final product?
(provide evidence of how you make the decision)
What a good example looks like:
Thinking Skills (Critical and Creative Thinking)
When I was done with my research, I realized how challenging this product really is. When I researched the process of how traditional animation was done I understood that I will struggle to do any of that as an individual amateur, and decided that I need to manage my time really well to avoid the risk of turning in an incomplete animation. I had to think creatively in order to be successful.
