Dear GJS Community,
Welcome Back to School! We’re excited to begin a new academic year at Global Jaya, especially as we celebrate our 30th anniversary. It’s a meaningful milestone, and I feel privileged to be part of the community at this special time.
Planning for this school year began last semester, and this week our teachers are engaged in professional development with new tools and platforms to enrich student learning. Using data and ongoing reflection, we’re continuing to strengthen teaching and learning across all grade levels.
We’re also pleased to welcome three new members to our secondary team: Pak Aditya (Mathematics), Pak Jonathan, and Ibu Fanty (Science). They bring valuable expertise, strong subject knowledge, and a fresh perspective to their departments and the wider faculty team. We’re excited about the contributions they will make to our school community.
We look forward to welcoming students on Monday, August 11. Please note the following reminders:
Key Information:
West Gate Entry: Opens at 07:00.
Orientation Day: On Monday, August 11, students will begin with an extended advisory session to reconnect with peers and meet new classmates. A rotation schedule will follow, allowing them to meet their teachers and get a glimpse of the year ahead. The day will end with our first assembly.
Uniforms: Students must wear the full school uniform. We appreciate your support from home in ensuring students adhere to the uniform policy.
Working in partnership: As always, we appreciate your support in ensuring regular attendance, punctuality, and helping students re-establish strong routines for a successful start.
Upcoming Highlights:
Independence Day Celebration and Academic Achievement Ceremony on August 15. This event will begin with a whole-school Upacara at 7:30 AM. Following the ceremony, we will move to the theatre for our Celebration of Academic Achievement for Semester 2 of the previous school year.
Curriculum Nights:
• Y7 & Y8 – August 20
• Y9 & Y10 – August 21
These sessions are a valuable opportunity for parents to meet their child’s teachers and learn more about the academic program. A MB session will be provided for Y7 parents from 3:00 to 3:30 PM.
WWW Parent Info Session on August 27
A second parent information session will be held on August 27. This is a great opportunity for those who were unable to attend last semester or would like more detailed information. If you have any questions about the program or have experienced any difficulties registering your child, please contact Pak Edi (edi@globaljaya.com) or Pak Alex (alex@globaljaya.com) at your earliest convenience.
We begin this new chapter with exciting news: Carlo Harefa (now Y11) earned a Silver Medal at the World Mathematics Invitational 2025 in Bangkok, placing in the top 25% globally. Congratulations to Carlo on this outstanding achievement!
A kind reminder that my door is always open, your feedback and input are truly valued. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!
Warm regards,
Nelsy Saravia
