Dear Global Jaya Community,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year. We look forward to opening our doors to new and returning families on the first day of school–Monday, August 11th. Over the long holiday, the team at Global Jaya has been working hard in readiness for the new school year. Facilities enhancements are underway; we spent the week of July 28th getting our new teachers ready to join our community; and all faculty have been working together during the week of August 4th to prepare their classrooms and lessons for term 1. Overall, our message to the Global Jaya community is simple: this year, we’ve got you, and you’ve got this. We are ready for you to have an amazing school year filled with personal success, happiness, and new opportunities.
-First day of school–August 11th–We can’t wait to see you!
-Primary Parent and Teacher Back to School Evening–August 13th
-Upacara and Whole School Independence Day Celebrations on Friday, August 15th
-August 18th--Regular School Day
-Primary New Student Induction on August 19th
-Secondary Curriculum Nights on August 20th and 21st
-No School on August 25th for students due to Professional Learning Day for Teachers
-Open Day on Saturday, August 30th (August 30th is a school day for everyone. We will have a day off in lieu on Thursday, September 4th.)
More importantly, this year we welcome several new faculty and staff members to our Global Jaya team. These highly qualified individuals join us from countries such as the United States, Jamaica, and Indonesia. Our new hires possess a wide range of academic and professional experiences to ensure we continue on our journey of success. Each new faculty member has prepared a welcome message to share on our New GJS Faculty Bios page, and I encourage you to take a moment to learn more about these individuals.
Throughout the long holiday, the admissions team continued to work with support from members of our GJS faculty and leadership. For the 2025-2026 school year, we have so far enrolled a total of 129 new students for the upcoming academic year who will be joining the GJS community. Our admissions and enrollment remain open, processing the ongoing and still incoming student applications and admission requests for the new school year. We are excited for these new families to join our community and know that everyone will welcome them with open arms.
Moreover, all parents–new and returning–are asked to review the Primary and Secondary Kontak Pages for full details on information on the August 11th start of school.
As we launch the new school year, I look forward to hosting the first Morning Coffee with Pak Howard on September 2nd, 2025. We will meet in the MPH, commencing at 8:00 am, and our focus will be on ensuring success for the upcoming school year and the handover of Parent Association leadership to our new Head of PA–Ibu Bebe.
Finally, on behalf of the entire GJS community, we wish all students, parents and teachers a successful and healthy start to the school year. I look forward to meeting and greeting you on campus over the coming days and weeks.
Warmest Regards,
Dr. Howard Menand
