While NV Energy currently has prescriptive rights, underground service is not covered by prescriptive rights. In order to bury and maintain the lines, NV Energy will require a signed easement.
The easement grants NVE rights to:
put your service (electrical, phone and cable) underground in conduits which will be put in a trench
to maintain and repair your underground service. This will allow them to work on 5 feet on either side of the trench
remove the existing polls.
Easements will not be recorded until NVE is paid. In other words, we will not record the easements or start the project until the funds are committed or donated to Glenbrook Underground.
NV energy will replace current overhead service with 50' ductile iron poles with wrapped wires which are the current fire retardant standards. The prescriptive easements granted to NV Energy will remain in effect.
With recent changes in the law, you can use an Online Notary Service to get your easement notarized. There are a number of on-line providers, including FedEx Kinko's.
