Freshman & New Student Orientation

Welcome to Glenbard West! We are excited to welcome our incoming freshmen and new students to the Hilltopper community.

New Student Orientation will take place on Friday, August 7, 2026, beginning at 8:00 a.m. in Biester Gym. All incoming freshmen and new students are required to attend.

During orientation, students will participate in sessions led by Glenbard West staff and West Mentor Leaders. These sessions are designed to help students feel prepared, connected, and confident as they begin high school. Students will have the opportunity to meet staff members and other incoming students, learn about academic resources and extracurricular opportunities, become familiar with Glenbard West traditions, and receive practical tips for a successful start to the school year.

Bus transportation will be provided for students who are eligible. Freshmen will receive bus route and time information at their Back-to-School day on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, if applicable. Buses will pick students up at their assigned stops and return them to those stops at the conclusion of orientation.

Students should eat a healthy breakfast before attending. They do not need to bring anything with them, including iPads. Cell phones will be put away during the program. Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended, as students will be walking around the building and participating in activities.
