Scholarship Eligibility:
The scholarship is open to any current high school senior, vocational student, college student or graduate student who is a legal resident of the United States residing in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia.
Students must be enrolled in a vocational program or two to five-year post-secondary institution for the upcoming semester.
Any employees of Largey Law, their immediate families (parent, child, sibling, and spouse), or persons living in the same households as such individuals (whether related or not) are not eligible to participate in the competition.
Candidates for this scholarship should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and good overall academic standing.

The candidate must submit a 750-1,000 word essay response to the prompt: Describe how you or someone you know has faced a traumatic event and found a way to overcome the struggle to better shape themselves.
The candidate must submit a professional resumé that lists their professional and academic experience.
The candidate must submit a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school and the most recent official transcript from their prior school. High school students must also submit proof of acceptance to their college or university.

The Hagan Scholarship provides up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters, workshops to learn important life skills not typically covered in the college curriculum, funds to purchase college essentials, an HSF Schwab Brokerage Account to manage in order to learn how to invest, funds to study and travel abroad, and the opportunity to apply for a Hagan Graduate Scholarship good for up to four additional semesters in college.
Applicants must attend a public, private, charter, magnet, or STEM high school located in the United States and be in the high school graduating class. Recipients of a Hagan Scholarship must enroll in an eligible four-year or higher college or university the first fall semester following high school graduation. The Hagan Scholarship cannot be used to attend a community college, junior college, or online institution.

Current and retired members of unions participating in any Union Plus program, their spouses and their dependent children (as defined by IRS regulations) are eligible. Who is Eligible?
For the 2024 contest, any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2022, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2022, is eligible to apply. The Elk must also be a paid-up member through March 31, 2025. Great-grandchildren are not eligible.
The applicant must be a high school senior.
The applicant must apply online only. The 2025 Legacy Awards application deadline is February 5, 2025, 11:59 a.m. Pacific Time.
If the applicant's parent and grandparent are both Elk members, the applicant must apply through the parent's Elks Lodge.
We have waived the standardized test requirement for the 2025 Legacy contest. You do not need to submit ACT and/or SAT scores.
Students may apply for more than one ENF scholarship; however, they may win only one. In cases where the student wins more than one, we will award the scholarship with the greater value. Students can accept local and state scholarships, which are separate from the awards at the national level.
Legacy Awards may only be applied to accredited US American schools, colleges or universities. (Note: Applicants from Guam, Panama, Puerto Rico and the Philippines may apply Legacy Awards toward schools, colleges or universities in their respective homes.)

ENF Legacy Awards 2025 Award Offers Per State and Area
There are 8 possible awards allocated to the State of Ohio for 2025. The remaining 100 at-large scholarships will be awarded to the best-scoring applicants, regardless of state and parentage.

The Edward J. DeBartolo Memorial Scholarship Foundation is happy to once again offer scholarship monies to area high school seniors.

Sharla Ranttila Memorial Scholarship

The Sharla Ranttila Memorial Scholarship will be given in memory of Sharla
Ranttila, a 1997 GHS graduate. The scholarship will be awarded to a GHS senior
who plans to major in a social service career. Social service majors may include
psychology, social work, education, nursing, or any field focused on delivery of
services directed toward well-being in individuals and/or the community.
Scholarship applicants will be asked to provide background information and write
an essay on a provided topic. The board of the Ranttila Scholarship Foundation
will then select a winner.

1. Write a brief (approximately 100-200 words) statement about why you chose
your planned major and where & how? You plan to pursue your education.
2. Write an essay discussing a personal accomplishment that is unrelated to

Through the generosity of the McFarlin Foundation, a college scholarship is available for a "young man on the basis of financial need, character, and scholarly attainments ( Minimum 3.0 GPA)."
