ViVi allows students to securely share their Chromebook screens to the classroom ViewBoard. Unlike traditional casting, students cannot take over the classroom display on their own. The teacher remains in control and must approve every student screen before it is shared. Teachers can even preview a student's screen before allowing it to appear on the classroom display.
Have the student open Google Chrome and navigate to:
https://app.vivi.io
The student signs in using their Gilmer County Schools Google account.
The student joins the same ViVi room as the teacher.
The student selects Share Screen.
The student chooses the screen, window, or Chrome tab they would like to share and grants Chrome permission to share it.
The student's request is sent to the teacher. The classroom display will not change until the teacher approves the request.
A notification appears in the teacher's ViVi application that a student would like to share.
The teacher may select Preview to view the student's screen before it is displayed to the class.
If the content is appropriate, select Share Screen to allow the student's screen to appear on the ViewBoard.
Teachers may also use Split Screen to display up to four student screens simultaneously for collaborative activities.
The teacher can stop sharing for an individual student or end all student sharing at any time.
Students can also stop sharing from their Chromebook by selecting Stop Sharing.
ViVi provides a training course that covers Student Share, Split Screen, and other interactive classroom features:
