Senior Aerospace Science Instructor
I began his military career at age 17, enlisting in the United States Army on 27 July 2000. After graduating from Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training, I assessed and was selected to serve in the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Following my Army service, I attended Arizona State University, I commissioned through USAF ROTC in December 2010. I completed Airfield Operations Officer training in November 2011 and subsequently held a variety of positions, including four tours as a Flight Commander, a Squadron Director of Operations, and Branch Chief at the Major Command level.
I have a Bachelors of Science Degree from ASU in Criminal Justice, and a Master of Science Degree in Unmanned Aircraft Systems from Embry-Riddle University.
I am excited to be a part of Air Force JROTC at Gilbert High School. AZ-941 will make a huge impact on Gilbert High School and our community this year! I look forward to meeting the cadets and parents.
I am a Dobson High School graduate and look forward to being back home with my two sons.
Aerospace Science Instructor
I served in the Air Force from 1985 - 2005 , from 1985 to 1999 I was as an F-16 mechanic stationed at Shaw AFB SC, Hahn AB Germany, Homestead AFB FL, Nellis AFB NV, Kunsan AB South Korea, and Luke AFB AZ, and in 1999 I retrained into an C-5 Flight Engineer stationed at Travis AFB, California. I have had the privilege to visit over 60 countries while in the Air Force. Since retiring from the Air Force I have held various jobs, Deputy Sheriff in Napa, California, Police Officer in Summerville, South Carolina and eventually became an Air Force Junior ROTC Instructor in 2009 at R.B. Stall High School (SC-031) in North Charleston, South Carolina from 2009-2012. I transferred to Campo Verde High School (AZ-951) in Gilbert, Arizona in 2012-2015. I transitioned into school administration in 2015 becoming an assistant principal and athletic director with Florence Unified School District, until the opportunity to be a part of AZ-941 in 2022.
I have a Bachelors of Science Degree from Southern Illinois University, Master of Science Degree in Leadership from Grand Canyon University and a Master of Science Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.
I am excited to be teaching Air Force JROTC and a part of the Gilbert High School / AZ-941. We have huge plans for our cadets, parents and community. I look forward to an amazing school year and watching our cadets become strong leaders within our corps and community.
I am happily married to Mary Longnion, we have four children and three grandchildren.
