Drill is a cadet favorite extra-curricular activity within the JROTC corps. Drill class is during A-hour that can be added to any cadet's schedule. Our high-performing drill team competed in local, state, and national level competitions each year.
The pinnacle was in 2022 our drill team traveled to Denver, Colorado to compete in the Rocky Mountain National Drill Competition (placing 5th overall).
The competitions we travel for, are a chance for cadets to meet and interact with cadets from other JROTCs, even from other military branches, showcase the skills and techniques they have learned, and socialize and become a family with their fellow team members inside and outside of school.

The Rocky Mountain Nationals competition on April 9, 2022, in Denver, Colorado:
We placed 5th overall of 31 international schools!
1st place in Armed Duo
2nd place in Armed Exhibition (4 person)
3rd place in Armed Exhibition (10 person)
4th place in Unarmed Regulation (10 person)
Also, individually:
Armed Solo
C/Gibson Gallares took 2nd place
C/Jason Toney took 5th place

The are three components to our drill team: Armed, Unarmed, and Color/Honor Guard.
ARMED: This is a component that marches while handling rifles (disabled so unable to fire).
UNARMED: This is the most basic component of the team, the members march without any equipment.
COLOR GUARD: This is the most competitive component of the team, the members march with a flag or a rifle and even preform at events such as football games for GHS on top of actual competitions.
