8: TIE BREAKING PROCEDURE
If Two teams are tied at the end of season:
Head-to-Head Record
The team with the better record in the two games played between them is ranked higher.
Head-to-Head Point Differential
If still tied, the team with the greater total point differential (points scored minus points allowed) in their two matchups is ranked higher.
Overall Point Differential
If still tied, the team with the greater overall point differential across all league games is ranked higher. A maximum point spread of 30 points (even if you won by 40) will be used.
Fewest Points Allowed in the Season
If still tied, the team that allowed fewer total points over all the game season is ranked higher.
If Three teams are tied at the end of the season:
Head-to-Head Record Among the Tied Teams
Step 1: Review the results of the games played between the three tied teams. If one team has a better record against the other two (e.g., 2-0, 2-1, etc.), that team is ranked higher.
Step 2: If no team has a clear advantage (e.g., all teams have 1 win and 1 loss against each other), move to the next tiebreaker.
Head-to-Head Point Differential Among the Tied Teams
Calculate the total point differential (points scored minus points allowed) in the games played between the tied teams.
The team with the higher point differential in head-to-head matchups is ranked higher.
Overall Point Differential
If the teams are still tied, calculate the total point differential across all games of the league season (including games played against teams outside of the three) A maximum point spread of 30 points (even if you won by 40) will be used. .
The team with the best overall point differential is ranked higher.
If the season ends up with an uneven number of games between teams.
Win-Loss Record (Adjusted)
Step 1: Rank teams first by their win-loss record, but adjust for the number of games played. For example, a team with 8 wins in 10 games is ranked above a team with 7 wins in 9 games, even though both have similar win percentages. This ensures the win percentage is prioritized over total wins.
Adjusted Win Percentage Formula: Adjusted Win Percentage = wins/Games Played.
Teams with a higher adjusted win percentage are ranked higher.
Head-to-Head Record (among teams tied with similar win percentages)
If two or more teams are tied in adjusted win percentage, compare their head-to-head record against each other (in the games they played). The team with the better head-to-head record is ranked higher.
Point Differential (Adjusted for Games Played)
If still tied, calculate the point differential (points scored minus points allowed) for each team. Adjusted Point Differential=Point Differential/Games Played. A maximum point spread of 30 points (even if you won by 40) will be used. .
The team with the higher adjusted point differential is ranked higher.
