ESSA requires states to support a school-level action plan based the results of the Resource Allocation Review, Data Review and Self-Assessment of MTSS Implementation. To address this requirement, all schools identified in need of Comprehensive or Targeted Support and Improvement are required to complete an Action plan in the first year of designation and review/revisit in subsequent years.

Action Plan Submission
The ESSA Action Plan must be submitted in the Consolidated Application for Support and Accountability (CASA), which is a secure application under the Iowa Education Portal. Instructions for CASA access can be found on the CASA web page. Please note that a team member with building level access to CASA will be required submit.
Selecting Evidence-Based Practices and Learning Concepts
Schools are required to engage in evidence-based practices (EBPs) according to ESSA. This EBP Resource is intended to support schools in selecting evidence-based approaches that best meet their school and student needs.
