Meet Ms. Zlaket

This is the page to come to if you want to learn a little bit about me. I've been a librarian with Garden Grove Unified since 2009 and I've been at Peters 4-6 since 2013. Before I graced the district with my presence I worked at Barnes & Noble as a Children's Department Lead and while I was in college I worked at Disneyland. I have a Bachelor's degree from Cal Poly Pomona and most recently an Associate's degree in Interior Design. My hobbies include reading, drawing, painting, crafting, and dabbling in graphic design. One of my favorite hobbies, however, is torturing my family and friends by making them go to literary sights while on vacation. So far they've followed me to the New York Public Library (the stone lions out front are iconic), the Seattle Public Library (it's a really cool building, I promise), the Library of Congress and the British Library (priceless old books) and I once made my dad walk all around London with me looking for a statue of Peter Pan (it's in the Kensington Gardens section of Hyde Park). I've also taken a tour of the Robie House in Chicago which was designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright and featured in Blue Balliet's The Wright Three. When the tour guide asked if anyone has read that book only myself and two kids raised their hand. My family laughed at me. As payback I made them go see Matilda the Musical in London's West End when it was my turn to pick an activity again. My favorite literary side trip, though, was visiting the WB Studio set where the Harry Potter movies were filmed outside of London, England. That's me standing in front of Dumbledore's office and Florish and Blott's in Diagon Alley.
