Digital comic builder for students in K-12 environments. Students start by building an avatar and then using that avatar to create comics. Avatars can be downloaded with a variety of different reactions and poses to fit the needs of the student projects. Pixton's use of comics and the graphic arts can help build students' art skills, foster creativity, and help them think critically about sequencing, context, and story structure.

Teachers can create classrooms and invite students to join their class. Once a student is included in the teacher's class, teachers will then have access to the student's work.

Purpose and Practice

Pixton operates on a freemium model meaning that it has free features in addition to other features that can be purchased.

In the free version, teachers and students can create digital avatars to use during story building or a variety of other creative projects. After building the avatar, students can download each one and save it to their devices or Google Drive for use in other applications, like Seesaw, Google Slides, or Book Creator. Teachers can add their students and then create classroom pictures with each of the student's avatars, therefore fostering that classroom community.
