2024-2025 INSTRUCTION Goal 1:

INSTRUCTION GOAL:

Increased school-wide awareness of regular focused notes (especially in core classes) and daily Planner use as well as other WICOR strategies throughout core and elective courses to demonstrate interactions and help retain new information. Ultimately, we hope to use WICOR to improve grades and A-G rates, while maintaining rigor.

2024-2025 SYSTEMS Goal 2:

The AVID Site Team will meet with AVID elective teachers quarterly and AVID elective teachers will meet monthly to collaborate and discuss AVID strategies and tools that can be used schoolwide to improve student learning and ultimately improve student achievement, focusing on note-taking and planner use.

2024-2025 LEADERSHIP Goal 3:

AVID Site Team will expand its presence to include teachers from all departments on campus and share AVID resources and examples.

- All departments represented except VAPA and Physical Education.
Site Team Meeting Quarter 1: choose two WICOR strategies to implement in your classroom and provide evidence
- Evidence includes photos, student handouts, student examples, etc.
- Evidence can be shared via shared Google folder, email, or photocopies
WICOR Shoutouts
- AVID students will highlight WICOR strategies that have been utilized in their classes.
- Evidence includes photos, screenshots, and documents from students' notebooks or drives
- Teachers receive shoutout certifcates
- Examples printed out from WICOR Shoutout Google Form and displayed on the AVID bulletin board in the teacher mailroom.
AVID VAQS website
- Contains college-readiness information, WICOR strategy resources, focus note and planner samples and templates.
- Public-access for all students, families, and staff.

2024-2025 CULTURE Goal 4:

AVID students and teachers will continue to help create a schoolwide college-going and college-awareness culture throughout all areas of our campus

AVID 12 students are making College of the Week flyers and announcements to be presented to the whole school through announcements and to the school and community through social media posts.
College pennants are displayed throughout the majority of classrooms, not just AVID.
College & Career Spotlight posters in hallway of400 building and 200 building.
- FAFSA posters for Nov-Dec
College Info brochures, stickers, etc set up on a table at BTSN 8/28/24.
Teachers Share College INFO
- Each teacher has an updated Office Hours sign next to their door that includes the college(s) attended
- 55 Alumni College Banners were created and are displayed throughout campus
- Teacher Features continue semester 1.
- Teacher Feature, Semester Abroad Edition coming semester 2.
- College Tissue Box Donations
