School Service Network Cluster Meetings

Our service network meetings bring together schools from the local area with the shared goal of providing support to our armed forces children and families. Through collaboration, we aim to share resources, highlight examples of best practice, offer guidance on maximising the use of Service Pupil Premium and introduce the benefits of utilising tools like the Thriving Lives Toolkit, which provides evidence-based strategies for fostering positive change. Additionally, we ensure that an effective transition exists for armed forces children in the area as they journey from primary to secondary school.

Since our group began in Feb 2023 we have already collaborated on our King Charles III coronation Scarecrows, Poppy painting for the local fort and recently clay tiles for Month of the Military child, with some of the resources being provided by ourselves.

We have included the Hampshire County Council model below, so as you can see where this group sits within the wider armed forces support that exists within our local authority. You will see that this group informs the work that takes place in schools but Lesley Ure can also pass information and feedback up to the district coordinators group.

If you work in a school and would like to attend these meetings, please email crutherford@kgahampshire.uk

By working together we can achieve better outcomes for our service children and families!
