Qualification Information
For this year group, there will be a range of different qualifications offered.
What are GCSEs?
Available in a wide range of subjects, such as English, Science and History. These lead to further study at Level 3, e.g. A Levels, BTEC Nationals etc.
Grades
Results are graded 9-1 (grade 4 is a standard pass, 5 is a strong pass).Â
What are BTEC Tech Awards and Cambridge Nationals?
These are a mixture of theory and practical learning in the context of general vocational areas. These courses are taught along side GCSEs and are equivalent to a single GCSE in terms of attainment. These also lead to further study at Level 3, i.e A Levels, BTEC Nationals etc.
Grades
BTEC First Certificates have a Pass, Merit, and Distinction* grades available and these are equivalent to GCSE grades 5-8.
