Recently, in Victoria, Australia, a man found his golden retriever giving a piggyback ride to a baby koala. It created a wholesome and entertaining moment that was caught on camera showing friendship between two animals.
Steve Lamplough heard barking and a commotion in his backyard from his dogs. When he went out, he found his female golden retriever, Denni, giving a piggyback-like ride to a baby koala clinging onto her back. Steve took pictures of the moment and posted them to Facebook, where commenters inferred that the koala most likely mostly fell from a tree and this activated Denni’s motherly instincts. Denni was seemingly proud and smiling while the joey tightly gripped her fur, holding on as if it were riding on a motorcycle.
Despite the fun Denni and the baby koala shared, the moment didn’t last and Steve had to remove the joey safely so the actual mother could find it. Eventually, the mother koala was able to find her child, and the Facebook posts went on to warm hearts and spread joy across social media.

Recently, people all over the USA united for the National Arts & Humanities Month, a celebration that strengthens America, gives us a chance to learn more about our nation, and allows us to tell America's story.
Every October, Americans observe National Arts & Humanities Month which lasts until the end of the month. They do this to raise awareness and honor those who show their creativity and emotions through their art. 2025 was the annual event’s largest celebration .
This year’s theme reminded us that creativity defines who we are as a nation, as well as who we aspire to be. This yearly celebration also functions as a national storytelling campaign that invites Americans everywhere to share how the arts and humanities have shaped their lives, communities, and identities. The celebration protects the National Endowment for the Arts and National Endowment for the Humanities, which are currently under threat.

LOS ANGELES - Freddie Freeman did it again, as he led the Dodgers to a 2-1 lead in this year’s Worlds Series. After a historical record-tying World Series game, Freeman hit a walk off home run, giving the LA Dodgers a 6-5 win.
The LA Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays met at Dodgers Stadium, with the Series tied at 1-1. The third game was an 18th inning record tying game, until Brendon Little pitched it to Freddie Freeman, who sent it home. This was a great game for Dodger fans, as they were now up 2-1 in the series, and had a chance at winning it all in the next two games. This was also a unique game, with 609 pitches thrown, 19 different pitchers, 25 position players used, and 37 runners left on base.
Freddie Freeman’s walkoff homerun on Monday October 27th, was similar to his walkoff Grand Slam in the World series. Normally, a baseball game ends in the 9th inning, and if the teams are tied, they go into extra innings (overtime). The 18th inning ended when Freddie Freeman hit a walk off home run to give the Dodgers the lead in the series.

UNITED STATES - In 2023, Alison Moore created a game called “ Game to Change the World because she knew that there were tons of people in need. She knew that a lot of people would pay real money for stuff in the game and all that money goes to people in need. Through the game she raised millions of dollars in just 2 months .
Alison Moore saw that people were in need and wanted to help, but she didn’t know how. So she thought long and hard and decided that if she made a game, all the money she earned from it would go to people in need, especially kids who are struggling with their mental health whose parents can’t afford to pay for treatments.
Alison knew that kids love to play games and that these kids would ask their parents for money to buy items in the game. The money would then go to her and she would give it to people in need in hospitals who can’t pay their bills.

Justin Copeland is a former Temple student who was recently accepted into LACHSA, the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, and has started posting on a YouTube channel. So far, the highest number of views he has gotten for one video is 24,000.
In April, Justin was accepted, into LACHSA, which is one of the top five music and arts schools in the U.S, with the help of his music teacher Mr. Woo and his dad. They supported him with rehearsals, giving up time for him, and his dad spent a lot of money on his really expensive saxophones.
LACHSA is a high school connected to Cal State LA, where the acceptance rate is only 10%. To get into the school you must audition by playing two songs to show off your tone. If they enjoy your performance they will give you a call back. Then you go to LACHSA on the CSULA campus and play your instrument while being monitored and evaluated by a panel of 6 judges. Only if you meet all of the requirements will they accept you into the school.

After the monstrous wildfires in LA., three arts organizations are helping victims of this tragedy. This is how the community is coming together to help others.
The wildfires in Los Angeles caused a lot of damage, especially to artists and their workspaces. To help out, important art organizations like the Getty and LACMA have started a fund of $12 million (and growing) to support artists and art workers who lost homes or jobs. This money helps them pay for things like new places to live, food, and clothes.
But it’s not just about money. Local art groups and venues are giving out free tickets to concerts, dance shows, and operas. Places like L.A. Dance Project and BroadStage are letting people who were affected by the fires come for free or pay what they can. It gives people a chance to relax, have fun, and feel like part of the community again.
The fires didn’t just hurt artists, they also affected families and schools. In Pasadena, schools were closed for two weeks, and when they reopened, kids had to wear masks outside because of the toxic ash in the air. Parents felt sad seeing their kids masked up again, like during the pandemic, but they knew it was to keep them safe.
Even though these wildfires caused a lot of damage, the way the community came together shows how strong L.A. is. People are helping each other, and that gives hope that things will get better.
Wildfires have been a big problem in California for years. This recent fire in Los Angeles is showing how quickly fires can spread and cause serious damage. It also reminds us how important it is for people to work together when something like this happens. One parent from Pasadena shared how it felt to drop off their kid at school while wearing masks because the air was full of toxic ash from the fire. It was a weird feeling, almost like the pandemic all over again.
This is a perfect example of Habit 6"Synergize", where everyone works together to make a bigger impact. By combining their efforts, these groups were able to provide a lot of help in a short amount of time. If more people worked this way earlier, maybe we could have protected some homes and families from the fire, but it shows how strong communities can be when they support each other
