The Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs provides an outline for guidance curriculum that "assist(s) all students in developing the knowledge and skills they need to enhance their educational, career, personal and social development". Within the guidance curriculum scope, there are four content domains:

• Interpersonal Effectiveness

• Intrapersonal Effectiveness

• Postsecondary Education and Career Readiness

• Personal Health and Safety

The rest of this section includes an example of a lesson plan that focuses on one of the content domains, artifacts, and information on how we partner with stakeholders to ensure we meet our program goals.

The Forbes counseling team relies on all stakeholders to ensure the success of the school counseling program. Campus and community stakeholders are actively involved in the program planning, educated about the program's importance, and assist with the implementation and evaluation of the Forbes CSCP. Through the review of the campus-wide needs assessments, BOY/EOY surveys, the Campus Improvement Plan (CIP), and teacher/staff/parent feedback, we are able to implement an effective guidance curriculum that covers all for domains and inspires and empowers the students to lead, grow, and serve.

Delivery of the guidance curriculum is a collaborative process which involves routine lessons presented by the Forbes counselors, as well as partnering with feeder high school counselors and outside agencies to present lessons with an emphasis on student academic growth, social and emotional needs, and state mandated content. The Forbes counseling team shares resources with both staff and parents through the weekly and monthly Counselor Corner newsletters (see below) and emails. In addition, the parents and students have access to the Forbes Counselor Google Classrooms, as well as various websites with parents resources and specific counseling lesson topics, such as the Forbes to GHS Transition website.
