Counselor's Role on Campus:
The counselor's role on the campus is to:
Educate students utilizing guidance lessons, individually and in small groups.
Foster a campus climate that embraces diversity/acceptance of all individuals.
Train staff in the areas of social/emotional and mental health topics.
Connect all stakeholders with community resources.
Support the educational, career, personal, and social/emotional goals of students.
Leadership and Advocacy:
Forbes Counseling team advocates for the school environment by infusing Social and Emotional Learning with our district's Learner Profile Traits into guidance lessons based on student needs. We work alongside the administration team to collaborate with other stakeholders in the students' lives to ensure a successful educational experience. We also enhance campus culture by developing parent information presentations to ensure students are supported academically, personally, socially/emotionally, and in college and career readiness. Ultimately, the Forbes Counseling Team is committed to building relationships with our students and helping them reach their personal and educational goals.
